During the Great Depression before the second World War in 1939, a couple Edmund and Therese Reusser decided to start their own business...
Under very hard conditions, these two people purchased their own land in Thun, first by renting it for three years, then finally buying this piece of property. This gave them somewhat of an chance to build a life during those hard times. During those years, Therese Reusser biked throughout the villages around Thun to sell flowers to farmers and families. It was hard to sell flowers when no one had money. Blumen Kaspar was in trouble.
In January 1977 their daughter, Therese, with her husband Fritz Kaspar, took over the business. Changes began...
Since then, the nursery was modernized and its efficiency was increased, much by the engineering knowledge of Mr. Kaspar, who studied engineering and horticulture. Therese also studied horticulture prior to taking over the business. Combined into a family, they amazingly shaped this business with such enthusiasm and effort that without them, Blumen Kaspar could not exist.
On May 5, 1990, after half a year of construction with an entirely new building, Blumen Kaspar was reopened with the name "Blumen Kaspar."
Today Blumen Kaspar employs nine professional designers and gardeners with many years of experience along with seven apprentice girls working for their degree. Every day in our nursery, our gardeners work hard to make sure that we can supply a huge selection of plants and cut flowers for beautiful, long lasting arrangements. We also import a big selection of plants from Holland, and the most beautiful roses, imported weekly from Italy and France.
After sixty years of experience, we have realized that a business cannot be complete unless our customers are satisfied with our service and products. Customers helped shape this business we are today and that is why we are and continue to be a high class floral business. We cannot be satisfied unless you are satisfied.
